How to format an HDD to ntfs from ext3?

Hello,

A while ago, I got an HP simple save, reformatted it to ext3 in linux, but now I need to format it to ntfs so I can use it as it was originally intended.

When I plug it in, it loads in the device list, the CD partition activates, but the actual storage part is inaccessible. How can I format it to ntfs?
