    Printers not showing up

    Hi,

I have windows 7 ultimate 32 bit on my netbook and for some reason, my printer does not show up all of the time.

When I try to print, it says no printers installed, not even the xps writer or the send to onenote (this is the one I am trying to use)

Under the devices and hardware, sometimes it shows up and other times it doesn't

When it does show, it shows 3 printers: xps writer, send to onenote and my actual printer. But most of the time, no printers detected.\

    Any fix for this?

Complete spec's would be helpful with model numbers and such the more detailed the better, check mine for example. Is this printer hard wired or wireless or networked?

    Welcome to 7 Forums mastamind518!

    1. Please list or fill out your system specs and then tell us what kind of printer you are trying to find the driver for.
    2. Go to the manufacture site of the printer to get the latest driver download.

I'm 100% sure I know what the issue is! Printers need to be installed on your netbook or laptop using a CD. You will need to buy an external disk drive to install the CD to your netbook in order to print. External drives are usually 7-20 dollars depending on which one you purchase.

When you get it all you have to do is install the external drive and put the printer download CD into it. Then you want to install the printer onto your computer when the wizard pops-up!

Hope this helps. Please private message me if you have any further questions!

I'm trying to use the "send to onenote" printer which is installed with office. But none of the printers are being detected so that's why I thought it was an OS issue.

Its an Acer Aspire One H532 netbook with Intel Atom N450. It came with windows 7 starter and I thought starter edition was causing the problem, so I upgraded. But now the problem is still there.
