    i have both of mine facing the heat sink i did a cpuhw check im at 16c Im not using push and pull cause i have other fans around my case to push air and pull through out the case

    Interesting and if the air can flow away easily from the fins practical. No such luck with a water radiator but air cooling fins this could be an interesting experiment. Have you tested temps both ways on a similar ambient day?

    My Temps are ussually the same on any given day during the summer it was 22c most of the time my room is very cool Im downstairs and the heat really doesnt affect the temps in the winter it gets extra cold and it doesn't get any hotter that im living 15 mins away from the ocean

    Im sure if i was in other remote location im sure it would be much higher based on my system is on the floor with a wood board under it with the back of the unit facing a ice cold window

    But i never had the guts to try push and pull with my cpu I stuck to being old fashioned or traditional facing the fan downward but in this case facing them to each other on the fins

    The fans should never be facing each other unless your heatsink is designed for that, which the Hyper 212+ isn't. If you have 2 fans, you should ALWAYS have them in a push/pull configuration on this heatsink. If ">" represents the direction the fan is facing, and "H" represents the heatsink, it should look like this:

    >H> (Back of case)

    You should NEVER have fans pushing towards each other, because it will create static air pockets between the fins. This could lead to higher temperatures or even overheating.

    I have to agree that generally, the setup should be push/pull with the airflow facing the rear or top exhaust fans. If unequal fans are used, the fan that moves the most air should be the pull fan, otherwise the air will backup in the cooler. In real world testing, at load, the push/pull should be the lower temps.

    That said, for the discussion here, if you aren't overclocking, you will get very little benefit from the 2nd fan as opposed to the added noise. Possible 2 or 3 degrees difference. My temps are lowest core approx. 27c at idle, and highest core 52c after 6 hours of OCCT. With the effective clock at 100% CPU of 3.21GHz.

    This is on par to other tests I've seen. All which led me to stick with the one fan that came with the cooler.

    Yep! Unless you are overclocking (which I am) you won't see a benefit from adding a second fan.

    Well not to be a party pooper i showed proof that it works and it it isnt broke don't fix it comes to mind

    Lets just say there is no set line on how it should be set up unless specified

    aparently i wasn't in class the day they said it had to be like this and only like this just saying proof is in my pudding and im not going to change it

    and ps I am oc'ed too with no fan noise only the gpu makes the noise

    No one is saying it must be only one way :) Just telling the OP what is generally recommended and what is generally accepted as the correct method. Since the difference in using 1 or 2 fans can be very slight, surely the different in using push/pull or your setup could expect to be as well. Overall airflow and case cooling will of course come into play as well. A Guy

    Air flow is a funny thing if the air has a place to flow through the fins and exhaust this will work, larger coolers the better but I'm curious as to how the same set up would do push/pull?
