    SATA host card

picked up a sata host card a while back just now needing to use it looking to us a ssd for a boot drive and move another drive from the board to the card. With the card in the pci slot everything works normal when I connect a hdd to it it causes the entire system to become very slow (can't even get it to open the start menu slow)???
Card is sil3512 and the drive was just going to be used for storage nothing on it works fine connected to the motherboard.
    Thanks
    Paul
