    I found this useful link that helps you select the correct PSU wattage based on your hardware.

    I get 486 watts from the eXtreme PSU Calc and 713 from the Newegg one for my system.
    i7 870, 2x4GB DDR3, ATI HD5850, 8 7200rpm drives, 1 5400rpm Drive, 1 LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD/DVD-RW drive, 2 90mm fans, 2 120mm fans.
    My setup currently runs with an Antec 650watt True Power Trio.
