    Help me with hotkeys

My laptop has built in keys for my f1,f2,f3,f4,f5,f6,f7,f8,f9,10,f11,f12. They all do random stuff that help new users. I want them gone and theres no simple setting where i can turn them off. I have to press fn then the f1 to make it useful. (gaming). Some examples would be the f2 makes the screen darker and f12 turns the internet wireless on and on, but i want them disable so i can use them for gaming without pressing fn.

Depending on the laptop Brand you're using, there will be programs pre-installed by the OEM.
You will have to determine which program is controlling your keyboard functions and prevent it from starting with Windows.
This will disable all innate keyboard functions!

If you post a list of your start-ups, I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you which program is the culprit.

Can you post a list of all the programs that Start Up with Windows?
You can use the Snipping Tool to take a screen shot of the list and post it here.

Thank you for your attachment; sadly, it does me no good if I can't see the columns.
Would you please send another post so that I can see the 'StartUp Item' Column in full?
It's the only way I know to help you.

Tip: If you need to capture a screen shot of a scrolling window, use FastStone Capture.
There is a portable version (requiring no installation) here:The Portable Freeware Collection - FastStone Capture

I use this all the time and I think it rocks...(just my opinion)

    Hope this helps!

OK. I did a quick Google and found HP QuickLaunch Buttons as a possible culprit.
I would suggest disabling this at startup and see if this fixes your problem.

I don't know enough about these files to be much good to you.

All I can suggest is to try Google or the HP forums or ask HP Tech which file needs to be disabled.

You're on the right track now, though.

Maybe someone else here knows the right answer?
