I have something called H55PCH on my Motherboard. It looks like a cooler of some sort. Anyone tell me what it is and what it does please.

What is the make and model number of your motherboard? A quick Google reveals that this is the heatsink for the Intel H55 chipset.

It is a heat sink for a chip set. Probably the SATA controller for the hard drives.

Thanks Guys. It is an Intel Board. I have used many Intel Boards in the past but never seen anything like this on them. I tried Google first but didn't find anything. Thanks Again, obviously it is nothing to be concerned about except it makes it look like something that could run hot.
