    External modem fax problem


    Hi everyone.

    I'm running widows se7en 64 bit. I'm sure this is a unique problem. My pc is out of pci slots so i put in an external (usb) zoom 3090 modem as vista 64 bit. I also have dsl but use wireless inet but use usb to modem and phone line to phone plug. I finally got the driver to install and work. Now when i send a fax, the fax status goes to pending. I can not seam to send a fax. Does not give an error or even try to send. I do know when i click recieve, i do not hear a dial tone. Any one have any similar problems? If you need more info, please let me know. I appreciate any help or suggestions.

    Hello Joe,

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

    Have you tried dialing a phone number through the modem? I have broadband, but use my modem so that I can dial numbers from my contacts through the modem. If that works, you would at least know it's not the modem.

    This driver from the manufacturer worked for me to install my Zoom USB Modem 3090 on my Win 7 Pro 64-bit desktop: http://www.zoom.com/files/dial_up/30...6200-64bit.exe
