Please Help AIO Printer Queston

Hello Everyone, Hope You all had a great Thanksgiving.

The question regarding the 4 in 1 (Print/Copy/Scan/Fax) Inkjet Printer Manufacturer, there is one manufacturer that allows to lay onto the scanner multiple pictures (say 5-7) and select each one to "save to its own file" with one more scanner pass.

Does anyone know which AIO Printer Manufacturer has this software ability?

Sorry I haven't been on lately, but with the Holiday and prior to that having to recover 2 laptops to like-new (out of the box) of the fam-damn-ilys, ...with then having to run all OS WU, Adobe Reader/Flash, Java, Etc, ........I'm sure most of you know whats all involved, ....Long Hours! LOL

I think you're talking about ADF (automatic document feeder) scanners. Read about them in the wiki.

If thats what you mean, AIOs with ADF are available from multiple manufacturers. HP has a couple of them in the Officejet range (5300 and 6300 i think), Canon was coming out with them and Xerox has something in the Documate series. Check HP's website, that'll give you a good idea

Is it that your not understanding the question being asked about scanning multiple pics laid out onto the scanner and have them saved to there own each individual file name (ex: pic 1 saved as 001, pic 2 saved as 002, etc, within its own folder with only one pass of the scanner???

See my current scanner will scan all of the pictures, but then I have to use a program (that I don't think I have) to save the pic's as their own file. One pic as its own file/file name with scanner making only one pass.

I don't know of a scanner that does that but Photoshop CS3 has that feature with a gang scan. "File", "automate", "crop and straighten photos".

Thanks for the info, but after a call to Epson, their software has this ability built in. :)

I can lay 5-7 pics on it, the scanner will make a "preview" pass, then I select each individual picture by mouse right click/hold/drag, then the scanner performs a more detailed and slower pass (Up to 4800 dpi optical; up to 9600 x 9600 interpolated) and will save each pic as its own file.

Just what I was looking for, but if need be I'll keep in mind about Photoshop CS3, Thanks for the post. Hope you enjoy Sevenforums, I know I do!

All Epson AIO printers come with software, ...Go Epson! lol

Went with the Artisan 835.

My HP F335 does you lay multiple pictures on the scanner it makes one pass and then shows you the pictures all in each of it own individual boxes and are stored in cache memory as you place more pictures on it and do the same procedure over then when you click done at the end of your scanning session it saves each picture individually to the same folder as if you scanned each one separately.

Thats cool, didn't know any HP's had that too, thought Epson was the only one, but I'm very happy with the Epson.

But good to know for others who would like this feature, more manufacture choices...
