    2nd drive not recognized

    Hello forum,

I am building my rig and am having issues installing my HDD. I have a SSD as the primary drive in AHCI. Per the instructions I only had the SSD installed when I installed Win 7 pro x64. I have now attached the HDD (Seagate 1TB) and I cant use it. I see it in my BIOS (as AHCI) and Device manager but cannot access it.

Can you see it in Disk Management ? May need to assign it a drive letter.

the usual case for this is that it is not partioned for use, right click "computer" and select manage - go to disk management select action in the menu - then all tasks and finally - format - that should fix your problem.
