Going Nuts - help please

Hi

Windows 7 doesn't see my Wstern Digital Green 1TB.
The disk doesn't show up at all in Computer Management\Storage\Disk management. If I reboot with Vista the disk is completely operational.

The disk is plugged in Nvidea's nForce 4 Raid Controller. Windows 7 is installed in a raid set without problems, but the second drive doesn't show up at all . If i check Nvidia's control panel app, the disk shows up as "free disk".

I've tried 64bit and 32 bit versions with no success at all (Build 7100, RC1).

Can anyone help please?

Thanks in advance

Try the Disk Management Console in Windows 7. It needs to be assigned a letter is probably all that's wrong.

Hi

I already tried that. The problem is the disk doesn't show up at all in disk management console.

I tried with another extra 250GB disk and the same happens.
Disk1: 80GB, RAID 0 OK
Disk2: 80GB, RAID 0 OK

Disk3: 1TB - doesn't show up anywhere. NVidia nforce control panel reports it as unformated but disk management doesn't see it.
Disk4: 250GB - doesn't show up anywhere.

If I move the disks to the secondary controller they work ok.
The problem is I already have a Raid1 setup in the second controller, so the disks have to work on the primary controler (and they do work in Vista and XP)....
I already upgrade all the drivers and nothing....

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am curious but I wonder what your RAID section in your BIOS is reporting. I have an Nvidia 780i mobo so I may be of some help in helping you diagnose your problem.

Hi

I finnaly solved it.
Just flashed my bios (downloaded from ASUS) and reconfigured it.
Then I activated all SATA ports, and disabled RAID for SATA3 and SATA4.
I never understood how it was working in Vista...

Thanks for your help!
