DVD drive not running install files.

okay basically, i want to install World of Warcraft onto my laptop. i did it before fine, then i uninstalled it and 6 months later i want to install it again. (i go through phases)
but when i put the installation disc in, it doesn't autorun, and when i go to open the dvd-rom, it gives me a list of 'installation tomes' labelled 1 to 6. i have tried putting other discs in to see if it was just my WoW disc, but none of these discs work either. i've tried uninstalling the dvd-rom drive and reinstalling it. and i've checked the registry for any errors. any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi, i've done that, it reads the disc itself, but during the time it should autoplay, it spins round, then just stops. i open the disc to view its contents, and there's no installation file there, just these installation tomes, in mpq format, any ideas?

You did what is in the tutorial and none of your CD/DVD's will Autoplay?

yup, i tried it with cd's that contain images, and they autoplay, but not CD's that have exacutables, like WoW or age of empires, etc.

If the disk doesn't have a setup.exe file on it you have the wrong disk, open Win explorer and check each disk till you find the one with the exe file and double click it and it should install

i thought that too, untill i put it in my friends laptop and it had compiled all the 'installation tomes' into a setup file :/

Is that an USB drive by any chance, BOH Hunter (or is it seen by Windows 7 as an USB drive)?

Besides that...What happens if you double click the appropriate EXE ?
Note that on some DVDs the installer might be hidden for whatever reason (or so I heard)
