nano transmitter for mouse stopped working

I have a microsoft wireless mobile mouse 6000

Been working fine all year. Most recently I had it in my netbook. I got a pop up that said the UDB device was not recognized. I tried to reinstall the microsoft intellipoint mouse software again but that didn't fix it.

I then tried it in my other laptop which it has working in the past, and when i plugged in the receiver it the computer said it was an unrecognizable device.

So now I cant use the mouse.

Any other things I should look at. Is there some kind of warranty from microsoft?

Are you sure that it's the software from Software Downloads: Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000

The 'Start Here' guide reads:
Quote:
To view Help on the PC: Start > All Programs > Microsoft Mouse > Mouse Help
Quote:
For the latest information and updates, go to Computer Mouse, Keyboard, Webcam & More | Microsoft Hardware
The Microsoft Product Guide adds:
Quote:
For up-to-date help about using or troubleshooting your device, go to the Microsoft Help and Support Web sit at Microsoft Support
Would it be OK if I left the mouse on all day and night?
