Windows 7: Printer prints only pink

I just cleared some clogged print heads on my 8 year old Epson R800 printer by disassembly and these precedures... Cleaning Epson Print Heads.

Point is to Google and see what's out there for head cleaning suggestions on your particuliar printer.

On my HP all in one, the print heads are part of the ink cartridge so every time I replace a cartridge I get a new head. The good side of that is if print heads clog up all I have to do is replace the ink cartridge. The bad side is the ink cartridges are likely more expensive as a result and/or the print heads are likely of lesser quality than a more expensive model with them built in. I'm happy with the quality of my printed pictures and I probably print just often enough to keep my heads from drying up.

It's pretty well known that printer companies give away the printer at a loss and make their money on the ink and toner.

I wish somebody would have told me that when I spent $700 dollars on one printer (Epson 2200) and $400 on another (Epson R800) -That was 8 years ago, however the ink for those printer hasn't risen significantly over time.

Still, I get your point

BTW I'm still using both printers, in fact I've been printing photos with them all day.
