USB host controller problems

The USB 3 ports working ok until I wake up my computer from sleep, then the cursor freezes. The keyboard at this time does not have any problems.
I need to reboot to get the mouse working again. I've already installed the latest USB3 drivers but still I'm having this problem.
Also when I plug in my WD external drive the USB3 port the computer only boots up to a certain stage, then I have to unplug the WD drive then the computer continue to boot up.
Please help.
