You have to select the PCI card. OR disable onboard graphics so it will not jump back to default on board.

Try getting the manual and see if it shows or look in Bios as Pebbly posted.

The other is to diasable on board as I posted if Pebbly's does not work.

On board has to be disabled it is the default graphics. Your PCI card works and then goes to default on board.

Bios states onboard was disabled but doesn't give the option to change to PCIe.

Hi Par - in the BIOS, set it to PCI.

After reboot, ensure you have the latest drivers for the GTS250, here NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.99 WHQL

Golden, it won't give me that option. I can't set it to PCI.

Try disabling the onboard through Device Manager- or see if it shows disabled there. If not disabled in Dev. Manager click Disable and reboot.

I know it shows in Bios disabled but make sure Windows knows it.

I think Hopalong is onto it : shows us your Device Manager, and lets see which cards are recognised. I run a GTS250 aswell and can get to 1920x1080 on a 21" SyncMaster, so yours should be capable of that.

Done everything everyone has suggested including through Device Manager and it is still not working. It will work correctly at 1600x1200 like it should until the card installs and then after it automatically reboots it goes back to the wrong resolution settings.

Can you post an image of your Device Manager so we can see if the on-board card is being restarted/turned-on at bootup?
