Booting is quick but where I really notice it is opening large programs like Photoshop, ACT, Outlook, Media Monkey and such. Before 10-15 seconds, now they open in like 1.5 seconds if that. Between the Sata III SSD and my new Quad core CPU the system is like nothing I've ever been able to afford.

Now all you need is a BIG SSD in a USB3 enclosure - or maybe settle for a Raptor.

Is a raptor better than an SSD?

No, it is not the same thing. But for a spinning disk, it is pretty fast. Here is an example: Newegg.com - Western Digital VelociRaptor WD6000BLHX 600GB 10000 RPM 32MB Cache 2.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
