Amd athlon 64 x2

Quick question here:
I've got an AMD ATHLON 64 X 2 designed for a type 939 socket, is it possible to use this processor in an AM3 socket? If not anyone want to buy one?

Processors will only fit the socket that they are designed for, so one designed for socket 939 will not fit socket AM2/AM3. Even if they can be physically inserted, the pin layout can change rendering the chip inoperable and potentially damaging the chip and/or motherboard should it be powered up.

Figured just as much. I was hoping there was some form of down grade compatibility as with USB 3.0 and SATA III 6 GB/s has... oh well.
