Way To Assign Game Controller ID #s?

I'm trying to figure out how to change or arrange the order of game controllers that Win 7 64bit sees them in. Is this possible? How do I do it? Thanks!

This is something I have dying to know as well. I have searched and searched and searched ALL over the net for a solution to changing USB game controller ID numbers in Windows 7 with no luck. There has to be a way to do it via the registry right?

All I want is for my steering wheel and pedals to be assigned as the *FIRST* device in the windows control panel settings, and my stick shifter to be shown as the last device.

Someone please help.
