    Windows 7 Old digital Camera

    Good Evening,

We recently purchased a new laptop for our mother and it came pre-installed with windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. We were able to migrate everything over except for her digital camera drivers. I have done a lot of research into this problem and found that the company has 32-bit drivers available for windows 7, but state that 64bit is not supported.

Is there anything I can do? Besides installing Windows 7 32bit?

    Thank you,

there may be several work a rounds.

Dual boot 64 bit and 32 bit till the images are exported.

Run a virtual machine (if your hardware supports it)

We could use more info on the camera and the format it exports. there might be other ways

I do not have the exact model number, its an older Sony Hi8mm camera. I thought about using Virtual PC with Windows XP Mode, but that is only available to professional+ my latest attempt was to install the drivers via the windows compatability application.

You say it's a digital camera, what is the media it records to? How does the camera connect, USB, 1394?

    It's really a camcorder?

Finding the model number would be very helpful, although I'm not optimistic. What interface does it use? IEEE 1394 (Firewire)?

In that case, it will have analogue outputs, so you will need a suitable converter.

I apologize for the delay, I do not have the model number available at the moment. It records to a 8MM tape, it was designed for Windows XP. USB 2.0 connection.
