Sony Motion Eye Webcam - Dead

There is no device in the Device Manager for the Sony Visual Communication Camera. I understand this is a Ricoh camera. Can anyone help me with getting this driver installed. I cannot locate it. I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

Try it on another computer and see if it works. Also please provide a link to the product information.

This webcam is an integral laptop camera installed in the lid of my laptop.

Ok, now I understand. I have see in some laptops that the webcam will not install until the grafic card driver is installed. I have seen this only on Nvidia based laptops. I don't know what laptop you have but make sure the grafic card driver is installed and just not the generic microsoft one.

"After many hours of un-installing, installing, searching forums for answers, etc, I finally fixed this problem myself. The Imaging Device (Sony Visual Camera or Motion Eye) was not present in the Device Manager. I simply could not get the driver to appear. Finally after 12 hrs of working on this in desperation, I decided to unplug the USB camera in the top of my laptop lid. It is a very tiny connector, but I got it disconnected. I then re-started. Shut down and then plugged it back in. THE DRIVERS THEN INSTALLED! HALLELUJAH!"

Bottom line, I tried to follow Sony's own recommended driver install order (ugrade from Vista to Windows7) but it would not work. Some of their drivers would not install. Someone here posted that the Intel Graphics driver needed to be installed first. I believe that may have been the problem because I remember I couldn't get it to install until later. I wish I had asked you many frustrating hours ago. The only help I got from the Sony forum was to basically start my installation over again (over my dead body!). When trying to follow their recommended order for installing drivers, I recall that step 8, the Intel Graphics Driver (INVID-70205985-64.exe, ver 8.15.10.1855) would not install. It gave the error message of "This driver is for Windows Vista Only". Later on it did install however. I'm not sure why it installed later, maybe because of some other driver I installed. That's when I unplugged the Webcam, restarted, plugged it back in, restarted, and the Webcam drivers then installed. Whew!
