Having an issue with my new Blu-ray drive/burner

I just bought this blu-ray drive a week or two ago:

Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 12X DVD-RAM 8X BD-ROM 8MB Cache SATA Internal Blu-ray Burner 12X Blu-ray Burner with Blu-ray 3D feature Model iHBS112 - Blu-Ray Burners

I havent tried any blu-rays yet, but today I tried backing up a P90x dvd & this is what happened.

The dvd would play automatically at first when I closed the tray.

Seemed to work fine.

Then I tried DVD shrink to back it up & it kept giving me errors/freezing

Then the dvd wouldnt play at all, not when I closed the tray, not when I restarted the comptuer or tried another dvd or tried doubling clicking the drive in computer?

Suggestions?

What about music CDs,data CDs and divX Video CDs (if you have)? Are they playing OK? Can you borrow a Blu-ray disc and see whether it plays?. All these only to quench my curiosity. (Incidentally I have the same stuff - may be two or three months old now, bought from ebay USA from India and no probs so far)

In any case, since it is new and shouldn't give any such troubles, why not return it to Newegg without losing any further time if their return policy permits or seek warranty support?
