System won't hibernate

Hibernate used to work fine on my machine, but a few days ago my computer suddenly stopped being able to hibernate.

When I try to hibernate, the screen goes black and nothing happens. If I move the mouse using my laptop's touchpad, the computer returns to the login screen as if I enabled the screensaver instead of hibernating.

Devices with the ability to wake up the computer:
Quote:
C:\Windows\system32>powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

C:\Windows\system32>
Last wake information:
Quote:
C:\Windows\system32>powercfg -lastwake
Aantal keren ontwaken - 0
What else can I try to fix the hibernation issue? I haven't changed any BIOS settings in the last couple of weeks as far as I can recall.

Check with WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics whether there is a hibernation file. You should see it easily in the colored area - it is a big chunk about the same size as the pagefile.

Do you mean C:\hiberfil.sys? Yes, I can see that file in WinDirStat. Its size is about 2.2GB.

Try recreating that hibernation file in case it if its gone corrupt.
In an elevated command prompt type 'powercfg -h off' and then 'powercfg -h on' and make sure 'Allow hybrid sleep' option is off under advanced settings of active power plan.

Alas, Windows still won't suspend to my hard drive. I verified that hiberfil.sys was gone after doing powercfg -h off and that it reappeared when I did powercfg -h on.

Is the hybrid sleep option turned off?

Are there any errors related to this in the event viewer?
Could be a power issue too, run powercfg -energy in an elevated command window.
Or try the solution posted here- Why doesn't Hibernate work any more (Windows 7)? - efreedom

Interesting energy report... I have uploaded it here: http://pieterdedecker.be/tmp/energy-report.html

I set my system language for English for your convenience. I also had a look at your link, which seems to imply that this problem could be related to the bootloader. Perhaps it's good to know that my computer runs in dualboot with openSUSE using a GRUB bootloader.

Can you try that method which i posted the link-to above?
Backup your mbr first in case if anything goes wrong, it can be restored.

System autoboots in sleep/hibernate
So I just recently found out how to activate hibernate on my Windows through this site. At first I had hybrid on, so I set hibernate to activate after 30 minutes.
