In my opinion you will need to stay with the max rating on the mobo of 95 watt. Stay tuned as we do some more research. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number A blend of brains, brawn and dumb luck, ask me about rig #2 ! Kevin,
That Phenom II X4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz is nice if not a little pricey. Comments are very positive and runs cool for the OC potential which I'm not even sure if your bios will allow? I would say it will keep you in that box for a bit longer 1-3 years or so. In the end you will have to make this decision but you should see a handy performance gain. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number A blend of brains, brawn and dumb luck, ask me about rig #2 ! The other thought would be to let the new Bulldozer get introduced and when that happens these lesser chips should become even lower priced.....my guess. This will happen soon, but I have no exact date. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number A blend of brains, brawn and dumb luck, ask me about rig #2 ! Yea I messed up twice in this post haha first one I posted had a higher TDP then mine and the 2n'd one has an AMD3 slot. Trouble I'm having is finding a Phenom with a TDP of 95 that fits in a am2+ socket =( | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq Presario CQ5200 Series (CQ5210F) OS OEM version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit CPU AMD Phenom II X4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz Motherboard PEGATRON CORPORATION NARRA5 Memory 4 Gigs Graphics Card MSI N450GTS-M2D1GD5/OC Edition Sound Card Hewlett-Packard Company nForce 430 (MCP61) High Definition Monitor(s) Displays acer Screen Resolution 1366x768 Keyboard Stock Keyboard Mouse Logitech PSU OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W Case Medium ATX Cooling Apevia Case Fan Hard Drives WDC WD5000AAKS-65V0A0 (500GB) Internet Speed 30 Mbps Download. 1mb Upload =( |

And the triple cores have the right wattage, but they are AM3. I was coming up with the ADX645WFGMBOX which is the Athlon II X4 645 @ 3.10 and is 95 watt with 2mb cache but it's a AM3 as well via Tiger D. How about just max'g out your ram and then blast in a SSD for the OS and Apps only and live with it for a while longer? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number A blend of brains, brawn and dumb luck, ask me about rig #2 !
