I can tell you about NZXT cause I've owned or built 6 different systems using their cases. They are probably one of the best companies I've ever delt with when it comes to support. If anything ever goes wrong with one of their cases or even if you lose parts like the HD or DVD/CD mounting rails, bas led, all you have to do is contact them at support@nzxt.com and provide a sales receipt and they will ship whatever you need for free. I had a bad front lite Led and they shipped me the whole front plate.

IMO that makes then a very good company and I like their cases. I'm hoping that some of their newer designs will incorporate drive trays or openings so you can replace your CPU through the rear and also more cable management in mid.
Other than that they are an excellent case for the price.

There is no triple channel in that mobo. The memory controller does dual channel only. So, if you insert 3 sticks of RAM, you are going to be single channel. I'm sure it will work, but won't be ideal. Go with either 2 sticks or 4 sticks....so it's 4GB or 8GB of RAM...not 6GB or 12GB.

It all appears to be the exact same items.


As pparks already mentioned, 1200W PSu is going to be way overkill. Unlerss you plan on runng 3 580s in tri-SLI or something along that line.

It may be worth mentioning:
As for that Motherboard, it may be overkill as well unless you plan on doing some really super Heavy Overclocking.
In which case, Higher End Cooling would be something to be considering as well.


Not saying its a bad board at all.
Its just that the Extreme RoGs are highend enthisiasts boards, and are typically far more than the average user requires, even modest overclockers for that matter.
So just bear that in mind.


You could probably save a good bit of money with a slightly smaller PSU (in the 800-850 range as already suggested) and perhaps the next board down that ASUS offers.

Then, put that savings toward some nice SSDs.
At least, that would be what I would do. And you still have a High End build.
Just a thought for what its worth.

I agree with Wishmaster...obviously I'm the one who first said 1200W is overkill. Just because you buy something way too big, doesn't necessarily mean your build is "futureproof". <- I hate that word with a passion. There is no such thing. And even though there is plenty of budget to buy something way more than you need, that doesn't mean that you should simply do it. 3 years down the road, a $3k rig would be just as outsdated as a $1500 rig...you would just have $1,500 more to spend on other things along the way. I'd be more inclined to saving $100 on extra power supply and use it to invest in a nicer monitor or better speakers, or a great keyboard, etc. Something that you will use and get use out of every single day. If you find that 3 years from now, you want to add that 4th video card and your 850W PSU is too small, well then address that problem then. But hey, this is just my opinion. It's not a fact, and not a requirement. Just the way that I would do it.

For sure the 1200 watt is a luxury and you'll save around $100 just dropping to the 1000 watt. It's totally your call but the savings of $70 over the 1000 watt to the 800 watt puts the 1000 in a better light. Corsair builds one of the most respected PSU's and many here will attest to it's durability so all in all your on the right track. The mobo sounds amazing and the features are never ending. I really like the custom bios features on the RoG's it's just off the hook. Saving a little bit back for a SSD is real smart ! The SSD is the singular most amazing upgrade that I've made period. Cheers your going to flippin love your new system and I'm already getting jealous and you better take lots of pictures and share !
