Dell 3000cn problem

I have a Dell 3000cn that works fine with my new windows 7 system. My problem is I can't seem to get the Dell program that monitors how much color toner remains in each toner cartridge to run. I installed the software supplied by Dell when I got the printer and still I can't get the program to run or give me an indication of why it isn't running. The printer is running via a USB connection and works flawlessly. Does anyone know if it's possible to run the Dell Status Monitor to see the remaining toner in each cartridge?

Yes it is a genuine Dell cartridge. The status monitor ran fine on my XP machine. I installed the 3000cn on my new W7 machine along with the status console software fron the Dell 3000cn disc and when I bring up the statos console, it shows a ! unknown in the status area and indicates in the "connected too column" USB001. I am running W7 professional and specified the printer in not networked but only installed for this one computer.

I made sure I did as you instructed and it makes no difference. Thanks for trying. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

The latest driver packages from Dell are for Vista, so you might need to use Compatibility Mode. They are dated 3/18/2007, so they are nearly 4 years old. Given that, it looks very unlikely that Dell are going to release any further drivers for that printer.
