    Hey guys,

Its turning on but nothing is coming through to the monitor, I tested the monitor on 2 computers, wont turn on i think its fried, it has this burnt smell. then i tested the pc, wont turn on too. I tested the videocard on my older desktop and its working fine, the ram i just bought for her a few months ago from. I cant test the ram, cpu since my pc is older. Any sueggestions on what to do?

For starters you need a new monitor it seems - or temporarily use one from another system. Without monitor there is little you can do. Then you can make RAM tests from the BIOS. The CPU will be OK if anything works.

Yes i have a monitor from my computer to test her's on . Sorry i did a bad job explaining, Testing the box on my monitor, and nothing is coming on, took the videocard out and tried it on my pc, it works fine. But im not to sure what to do from here. Its not giving off any beep signals to tell me whats wrong.

Not even a BIOS screen? If that is the case, your motherboard or the PSU do not work.

hmm, how can u know its not cpu or memory? I can always pop the psu from my pc into hers and try, but its powering up though, so i assume the psu is fine.

If it powers up, the PSU should be OK - one would assume at least. There could still be a defective rail. But if the BIOS does not come on, there is little you can do.

Ill try the psu, but if that doesnt work i guess i should just take it to a repair shop to be tested then.
