Edit
Hello,
i have a toshiba satellite L505D-S5983 laptop with windows 7 home premium 32bit. everything on the computer worked fine until...
Recently I had a windows 7 update. After one of the many updates, my screen went blank and I could not open windows without going into safe mode. Well, i decided to go back to previous recovery point and then went into msconfig to deselect some of the start menu items and then I was able to open windows regularly with no problem. EXCEPT!, now I cannot use USB devices. USB controllers are no longer in my device manager. THEY DISAPPEARED! i went into the boot and made sure usb was enabled which it is. also i select "default settings" in the boot and that did nothing. I tried to find usb
drivers online and could not. I went into windows update and even installed all the optional updates. no difference. usb port powers all devices but there is no access and no recognition of the devices. devices all work on a different laptop running XP. please help! I am really dissappointed by this situation and already spent a whole overnight trying to fix it. please help. any fixes?
