Windows 7: SATA DVD burner...

SATA DVD burner...

This maybe a stupid question, but I don't know the answer...

Will adding SATA DVD drive to the SATA II port change the throughput of the SATA II bus? Similarly how the IDE port used to fall back to the slowest device speed on the IDE cable.

I have four SATA II hard disk drives connected and planning to replace the two IDE DVD burners with the SATA DVD burners.
TIA..

not a stupid question.

the simple answer is 'no'.

each device is on a single cable attached to one port, and doesn't affect anything else.
