Burn Pictures to a CD in Window7

Could Anyone Please tell me how to Burn pictures to a CD? (1) There is enough space for the Pictures on the CD. (2) The Pictures are grouped in several Folders. (3) I select the folders - Click on Burn - Insert the CD-R disk - Name the Disk - Click Burn (4) Process goes almost to the end and then the process hangs. (5) I am using a HPdv5-1125nr Laptop with CD-DVD-RW drive. Other than this I can't see why it does not complete. Thank You whomever You are for posting the answer. God'sSpeed - PatrickC

Im assuming you have a blank cd-R (or -RW). you can either drag and drop or click on the folder and click burn. The cd/dvd player should ask you how you want to use the cd (either as a usb, or as a cd) click cd so that at the end the session is finalized.

How many pics? how big are the folders?, etc

We really need a lot more info to help you more. Hope this gets ou started

I went to Download.com and downloaded Express Burn software. It is free software that burns cd's very well. I have used it to burn Audio Cd's in Windows XP, because Windows Media Player wouldn't burn the Audio Cd' with the correct breaks between the tracks. When I was attempting to make CD's today, I used up 6 brand new CD's using the burn method in Windows 7 and each time the proces got all the way to the end and the process would hang. I still don't understand why running Express Burn in Compatibility mode (Vista Sp2 compatibility) worked and Windows 7/Windows Explorer won't. I hope I didn't violate any rules by mentioning a web site and a software program. Thanks for the reply.Patrick C

Im not a great fan of WMP anyway, but Im glad you solved your problem and thanks for filling in your system specs

What is the reason that it is so difficult to burn a CD using Windows Explorer? (1) Select Files/ Folders while making sure the CD has sufficient space. (2) Click Burn. Windows states there is no CD. (3) Insert and name the CD as required. (4) Windows states that files are ready to be burned and to click on the message. (5) Click on the window - burning process begins. This process works good with a DVD copying data files, pictures included (Backup of My Documents). This process hung-up 6 times and I could not see any logical reason why. Patrick, your problem seems similar to something I have just worked through (and stuffed several CDs).

On the last panel before the burning commences there is a check box for eject CD after burning. When it was checked I got a usable CD.
