Windows 7: Windows 7 64 bit update affects usb file transfers

Hi All,

I have been having issues with USB file transfers freezing for over a year now. I recently installed my OS on a new hard drive, and when transfering data over; it was vey quick and there were no issues with respect to slow transfer or even freezing. However, after many updates, the problem arose again.

The particular device which constantly freezes in Storage Mode is my Nokia N900, which I have used on XP and works fine. I have also used a Sony Memory Stick, which took around 20-30 minutes to transfer 400MB. Also, this the problem of slow transfers occure even on small files, although it doesn't freeze.

With respect to resolving the issue myself, I have slected High Performance for all my drives under device manager and also downloaded the latest update for windows which apparently resolves the issue but it didn't.

I hope I can get a solution to this on-going hassle.
