cd/dvd drive showing up as bd-rom drive
I have an HP dv6000 as of recently my cd/dvd drive has been working fine, now it is showing its self as a bd-rom drive. It is not a bd drive, and it does not read anything. I have put in cds, movies, and program disks, and it spins them for a few seconds then stops. when I right click on my E:\ drive, bd-rom drive, and go to properties under hardware it is showing Hitachi then a product number of some sort, and ATA device. I assume this is the actual divce, but it also shows what seems to be a random string of letters and numbers then SCSI CD-ROM drives. I have gone into device manager and removed the second of the two, with no luck. I have removed both from device manager and restarted, still no go. I have gone into regedit and removed the upper and lower, which actually there where no lower, from Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 in local machine, and restarted. When I removed the fillters there where about 14 of those 4d36e..... some did and some didnt have and upper fillter, and none as I said had lower. I am stuck with reinstalling windows, which I dont want to do. Please help
