hard disk installation help.

well, i have a lot of problem installing my hard disk( 500gb seagate barracuda). my computer doesnt detect it (even in the bios). Does it have anything to do with the motherboard(intel d945 gcl) and the ram(1 gb dynet), or is it a faoulty hard drive?
i currently have a 160gb seagate.
BOTH MY HARD DISKS ARE SATA

Did you format it and assign it a drive letter?

Hi anirudh and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

Check to make sure that the cables are secure. If using non-latching SATA cables, consider replacing them with latching types. Check the settings in your BIOS - on some boards, it is possible to disable unused ports. You could also see if the drives are detected if you swap the connectors around.
