Windows 7: Sony MP3 Walkman Player: how to eject safely

i have read the threads about this topic, but i am still stumped since all the drivers for my sony nwze355 walkman are working fine, and it shows up in My Computer as a portable device, and in Devices & Printers as a "Walkman" in the Devices section (top)

however when i right click on the icon, there is no option to "Eject" that i have with my flash drives, either in the notification tray or the Devices & Printers section once i open, i installed the content transfer software before installing the device, so is that what is creatin this issue?

If Windows doesn't give you an option to eject, you don't need to worry about it. Some MP3 players will automatically prep themselves for ejection when syncing is complete. The iPod does that after being hooked up for a period of time. It will auto eject and continue charging, mostly when iTunes closes.

I wouldn't worry about it. If your software doesn't have an option for it, and neither does Windows, don't worry about it. If Windows used to give you the option before you installed the software, my guess is once the software installed, it told Windows that the MP3 player wasn't just a mass storage usb device (like a flash drive) and it gave it drivers to treat it differently (thus it's special device listing)

thanks for the advice, actually i just shut the computer down now and then remove the Sony Walkman just to be on the safe side, however i did notice that when Windows Media Player 12 stops sync mode, there is a message to the effect that you can now disconnect your device
