DVD Drive found but not Driver model nor..

Alright im not sure where to begin. I've had some problems before on the same computer with BSOD's and two dayhs ago my HDD died. Files damaged and problem finding the driver (OS HDD C aswell as D). So i bought a new HDD 640 GB 64MB Cache 7200 RPM. Hoped to be able to install it today.

When im going into the BIOS, and selecting the booting devices i have the choises, WD6402AAEX (My HDD) 1st FLOPPY DRIVE, CD-ROM.

So in short i can not install my OS becous my computer does not find a bootable device.

So lets start it like this. The HDD is correct, I do not have a floppy connected to the computer and my dvd does not find a bootable device.
(Have tried to use the CD as master aswell as slave. Ofc i have tried all of the bootable devices says that there is not bootable media in them.)

Do anyone have a clue of what the problem is?
If there is any information i have missed please do not hesitate to ask!

First I have a question for you regarding the 4 HDs you have listed in your systems specifications. Are external? The Freecom 1tb and WD 1tb models I assume are used externally leaving the WD 640gb replacement and one remaining Samsung 500gb.

On Asus boards typically when going into the Integrated Peripherals section and highlighting hard drive to press enter the list of all internal hard drives comes up on a new screen. You'll want to be sure the new 640gb is seen at the top of that list to be set as the default HD as well as plugged into Sata if sata Port #1.

Instead of changing the boot order to CD in the bios setup you simply press F8 once the first post screen arrives and select the optical drive to boot from the 7 dvd. The new HD is still likely "raw" unpartitioned and unformatted explaining why that won't be seen as bootable media until OSed. All you should see is a blinking dash in the upper left hand corner of the screen when making any attempt from it.

As far as the not finding bootable media when setting the optical drive as first that tends to suggest your dvd drive may be in need of replacement unless the data cable is lifted up a little or slightly loose at the drive end or another cable is needed.
(I keep two of them installed since one will always fail at some point! One of the two recent optical drives is now showing similar not wanting to work signs.)

The first idea from at this point for you would be trying the F8 boot device menu with the 7 dvd in and seeing if you can boot from the dvd directly. If so upon reaching the screen with the Install Now button look below for the repair tools link.

If you are seeing the new drive on the post screen the command pompr option and typing in the two DiskPart, List Disk commands will should show the new WD 640 drive along with any other internal HDs.

The problem seems to be directed more towards the optical drive however. When having problems trying to boot from different dvd drives and then not seeing it light up or refuse to open the tray when pressing the button they get replaced. And grinding of gears sound heard? If you do you'll know it's the dvd drive then.

Have just "stolen" my parents DVD driver. And plugged it in, For some odd reason that one works but not my own one.

Your problem description pointed right at it. Sometimes a restart or two or powering down and firing everything up a minute later will suddenly see an optical drive work like it should. But that's a typical indicator the drive needs to be replaced once you run into the unable to boot any media problem.

With a working drive available you should be able to simply press F8 with the 7 disk in the drive and go to work getting the drive set and 7 installed. If you allow the installer to partition you will see the 100mb system reserved partition created which is new with 7 to protect the boot files and info.

Now if you don't want that while not even noticable on drives over 500gb you can simply opt to use a 3rd party drive tool or go into the repair tools first to allow the detection not to find any installation and click next to arrive at the list of tools which includes the command prompt option.

At the prompt type these in order one at a time followed by pressing the enter key.

DiskPart
List Disk
Select Disk 0 (without any other drives plugged in you will see #0)
create partition primary

You can now opt to enter "format fs=nt60" or use the format option found during the initial stages once starting the Install Now to proceed or simply let the installer format the new primary. For 3rd party drive tools you would boot live first with another disk to partition and format followed by rebooting when swapping out that for the 7 dvd.

Another option used here is having the Linux tool GParted on a bootable 2gb flash drive where there is no extra handling of disk if a clean install is needed. But once you have a nice clean install seen to you may want to create a full system image to store on one of the other drives preferrably the remaining Samsung 500gb due to it going much faster on internal over external HDs.
