What is the best way to adding new HD

I have read all I can stand and nothing says that Windows 7 has exactly what you need to add a new larger HD and move OS and programs and files to new HD. I have seen some programs you pay for to do this, but Windows 7 says it is possible to do on its own. Just how can you do this using Windows 7 Ultimate Signature Addition?

If you purchase a western digital drive (or have one), you can get a free program from them (true image home, western digital edition) too clone your existing hard drive to the new one. Basically you set up and start the clone, the system reboots and copies to the new drives. When finished it shut your computer down, you take out the old hard drive, and reboot to the new. I believe Seagate has similar, but I wouldn't recommend them.

This is easier than a backup/restore IMO.
