    Printer Management Problem

Hi - I would like to delete a printer from showing up in my devices and printers list. There are many web references to using the Print Management tool that is supposed to be part of Administrative Tools in Windows 7 Home Premium, but it doesn't show on my pc.

I did a search for printmanagement.msc and found two copies. When I tried to run them they both gave me the following error "MMC could not creat the snap-in".

Two questions - how do I get the Print Management tool to work?
    - if I can't get it to work how do I blow away all traces of the now-defunct printer?

    Thanks for any help -

    Dave

It would help if you told us what is the make and model of your printer.

Most important.....Welcome to Windows 7 Forum.

It is an HP PSC 2170 multi-function inkjet. From what I have been able to find on the internet this is a generic problem that is not specific to this prnter.

    Thanks
