    HP wireless printer.

I just got a new wireless hp printer and my mother in law is a huuuuuuuuuuuuge hog on printing everything and its mother on the web. How can i set up my printer wirelessly without having it show up on her network? What I'm basically asking is that how can I make the printer only work with my hp laptop or only show up on my computer?

It depends on what kind of network settings the printer allows for. If you can name the network, simply create a second network with a different name that her computers are not a part of.

It's likely her computer won't auto detect it anyhow.

Thanks for the response, but I'm not very savy with networking and how they work. How can i make a network for just my computer and the printer?

Well as for the printer, it depends on what kind of network settings it supports like I said.

To create a second network on your computer just go to the network and sharing center in the control panel and choose set up a new network

Edit: like I said before, it's unlikely her computer will auto detect it and install the drivers without you helping her anyhow.

OH, i would have to install the software/drivers on her computer in order for her to print from it?

More than likely, there's a off chance it would auto detect, but it would be more the exception than the rule.

If you need drivers to make it work on your computer. It's fairly safe to assume the same will be true for hers.

I would turn off printer sharing on your machine just to be safe.

I really think you're worrying about nothing though.

Where would printer sharing option be located? In network connections?
