This from my system but keep in mind the process may be different with other MB's.
Take a deep breath and relax. You may run into some trouble but do not get upset!
1-Unplugged all other drives. The Revo drive does show up in bios once it is plugged in. I have one GTX480 and later plan on installing another so I left the space for the second graphics card. The Revdrive showed up as a [Raid: 06:00-0 SiI R] In Bios it showed it as a Raid1 initially.
2- In the bios go to storage configuration and be sure the Sata controller is set to idle.
3- I had to install Vista upgrade as I have both Vista and 7 as upgrades. You have to use the Vista 64 bit with the 7 64 bit. I do not know why but the windows 7 disk did not allow a boot from the CD/DVD. Only the Vista OS allowed this.
4-Once asked for drivers you have to install the 64 or 32 bit driver you downloaded on the USB. It has to be the correct one as the 32 bit was not recognized with my 64 bit OS. It will not recognize that there is a drive until the correct drivers are installed. Once you select "select new drive next. As the drive will be listed as an unallocated drive.new" it will show the drive as Partition1. After that select next and Vista installed perfectly.
I started today at 6:30 PM. At 6:33.5 windows showed files copied. After windows Vista was installed I inserted the windows 7 upgrade DVD. At 6:34 windows rebooted. Just let it go and sit back. At 6:36 windows rebooted. Again just let it go and sit back. At 6:39 windows rebooted again. Everything was completed at 6:43 PM and I had a working OS.
5-I just went into the bios and changed it to ahci. Everything is working fine and I reloaded everything I wanted from the old drive onto the Revodrive.
