Unable to see drives in my computer

    Hi,

I have a problem that occurs every once in a while. I'm using the professional 64bit version of 7.

I will start my PC and I am unable to see my drives. I can see my 2 HDDs but I cannot see my CD Rom or my memory card reader. Usually I can see everything but once in a while I am unable to see them. Doesn't matter if the CD Rom is empty or not it still does not show up.

If I restart the computer I can see them, but occasionally they are gone. Is this a known bug or is there a fix for it?

    Thanks

never come across that problem myself, but try this, it might help.

Drives - Hide or Show Empty Drives in Computer Folder

type folder into the start-menu searchbox to bring up folder options.

view >> untick 'hide empty drives...'

i know you say it sometimes happens when your drives are full, but it's worth a go...
