Cooling Fan -- Windows7
I've been searching this issue since the upgrade:
I upgraded to Windows 7 the other day. Since that I noticed my coolant fan barely makes a sound. It's running slower and more quiet than usual. Then it shuts off automatically. After searching around, I found for my model (toshiba satellite p105) There was a bios update. I did that, and that didn't fix the problem.
When I first boot, it's loud, fast, normal as it was. Right now I am in safe-mode, it's fast and normal as it was on xp. For some reason when I am in normal mode in Win 7 it gets really quiet. Then after a little bit it shuts off. The fact I can run in safe mode and hear the difference in speed, lead me to believe it's not my hardware. This only happens in win 7. When I boot in linux, it's fine as well. I checked all settings, and set to max performance. Both in bios and software settings under power options. Any ideas, any one? Please help.
