Bluetooth stack problems
Hi there!
I have a problem with my :Logitech Dinovo Laser receiver.
It all started when I installed a program called motioninjoy (MotioninJoy | Playstation 3|Xbox 360|Dualshock 3|Sixaxis|Game|Driver|), which is a progrtam/driver that enables PS3 controllers (DS3) to be used on windows. Great little program, however I made a cock up during the installation. I also updated the bluetooth through the broadcom program that checks your device and updates the relevant software (was doing this to get the PS3 headest to work on my PC), however I think it is the former that is causing the problem.
When I installed it (on Monday I think), it said to remove all BT adaptors aprt from the one you wish to pair the DS3 with, as I only have one I kept it in. As you progress down the page, it tells you that you will change the adaptor so only the DS3 will connect to it! Which was a bit late. I uninstalled everything and it seemed fine. But since then I have lost all bluetooth functionality (have checked the setup on my netbook and everything is fine).
It started off with me not being able to add any devices via bluetooth, only the dinovo set would work. The logitech connection assistant cannot get me to a point where I can connect another device. I uninstalled the logitech setpoint software, and reinstalled it. Now it stalls when 'locating bluetooth radio' and I have nothing that resembles bluetooth in device manager either. But when I connect it, I just seem to have extra HID items. A friend told me to change the driver to bluetooth radio, which seems to have mucked things up even further as I can't even uninstall these in device manger now, it just says uninstalling device for ages and never does it.
When I try to update the bluetooth through the broadcom program it now says 'Could not start Microsoft Bluetooth stack. PLease reboot your computer and try again'. I've done this numerous times and got the same result. I tried another bluetooth driver program, which gave me an error too and a very long report, which I'll put in the next post to stop this one going on for even longer!
I've attached screen prints of my Devices and Printers and Device Manager (when I plug in the BT receiver, nothing changes. The HIDs with exclamation marks are all have location as 'On USB device', the others are my TV card and media centre receiver), the ones marked 'On USB device' would all disappear when unplugging the BT receiver. I think this changed after changing the driver to BT Radio.
Sorry if this a bit of a sprawling post, but I've been pulling out what's left of my hair all day and would really rather not reinstall everything again! I can get access to another USB BT donlge if needed.
Thanks in advance!
Tim
