Working Windows 7 drivers for Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000
Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000 (32-bit and 64-bit) Windows 7 drivers - alt.comp.periphs.webcam | Google Groups
Different camera, same problem.
Quickcam 4000
All i did was run the Vista 64 installer and let it fail as predicted.
Manually point the unknown usb device driver at the 64bit driver folder and that was it, job done. No need to edit anything.
Working on skype perfectly.
Thanks markee and PinkCamel for your posts, i tried your fix and it worked perfectly.
I thought I would add this additional information. I installed the Quickcam software verysion 10.xx in Windows 7 and it recognized the QuickCam 3000 ...albeit as a 4000. Because I was unable to use the camera controls...i.e. brightness etc...I uninstalled the software and downgraded to the version supplied by Logitech for XP. Although the software did not automatically recognize the camera...I updated the driver for the "unknown hardware" by pointing it to the PRO2 folder and the camera successfully installed and I was able to control the settings. This was without modifying any inf files or any of the other stuff suggested in the first post.
