I currently have my drives set to shut off after 30 minutes of inactivity (in advanced power options/settings).
Recently I've needed to enable AHCI for hot swapping stuff.
Consequently with both of these, what happens is the internal drives (data/storage drives. C: and my programs drives stay powered on) power down and therefore removed from my computer / disk management / device manager / etc. which is what they should do. however....they don't seem to power back on.
Has anyone dealt with this? I'd like to keep AHCI and the idle power down both enabled. I just want the drives to spin back up after the PC isn't idle anymore.
I have a gigabyte MA770T-UD3P
win 7 x64 no sp1
gigabyte's site shows no new chipset
drivers since 2009/08/14 so there isn't a new
driver to be installed. I updated them after swapping to AHCI. And that doesn't appear to be the issue anyways, since I can hotswap drives without a problem
