Another HD Socket

My Packard Bell PC has one HDMI socket which at present is connected to my Samsung HD TV.
Is it possible to fit another HDMI socket to the PC?
This one would be connected to an HDMI Monitor.

Thanks

I think you Mean So that you can Dual Screen with the Tv and the Monitor?

IF so then you would need a New Graphics Card that supported 2 HDMI outputs.

If not and you want to clone the desktop Go with Doc Browns Suggestion ^^

Also as an After thought do you want Seperate sound and video or just single?
If you dont understand, The Seperate is if you want to play a football match on your tv with sound and music on your Monitor using the HDMI.

If your using A Seperate sound card then you want single really But let me know so i can do some more searching for you

What I should of said is I use the present HD socket on the PC to view my desktop on the TV via its HD socket, these two being cloned.
Now I have purchased a new PC monitor which is full hd I want to use that at the same time.
Hope that clarifys it.

Right, Unfortunatly there is no Graphics Card that supports 2 HDMI outputs at the same time, however if you have a DVI port you could use a DVI - HDMI converter to get the HD.

Premium HDMI to DVI Cable Gold 2 Metre: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

The link is to a DVI Male to a HDMI cable. That should be suitable for your Graphics card,

This is all assuming that you have a Graphics card with a DVI port.

I think a DVI to HDMI converter only does Video & does not allow for sound.

Is this for a Desktop computer or a laptop ?

It Is for Video only which is the downside however it is the only way to utilise Both monitors with the HD.

If it is for Laptop it is completly unlikely to be doable,

Desktop just means you should use your Sound Card or Use a Wire from the output to the monitor.

Thanks
My card will have an unused DVI socket.
It is for my desktop so will the sound not just come from my soundcard?
If not where where would I connect to receive sound from the PC monitor?

Thanks again

Yes the sound will come from your soundcard,

Doc Brown is saying that HDMI is used to carry both images and sound but by using the converter it limits it to Image signals.

No probs
