Hardware Reserved screwing over my computer

Hello, my name is Sean, and I am having severe problems with something known as hardware reserved memory. Essentially, something about windows seven gives it the idea to sometimes(as in from time to time on start up, in no order or due to reason) commit 4 gigs of my memory(RAM) to 'hardware reserved'. When it is not being completely useless, hardware reserved take 2 megabytes of my memory. other times it will take 2 gigs. I need to stop this. Restarting will eventually ix it, but i want a real fix. This is an idiotic problem, and I can not find a solution on the web. Microsoft charges $50 freaking dollars for a damn email. A single email. That is literally the worst tech support i have ever heard of in my life. Their website nets 0 results when you search 'hardware reserved', despite dozens of threads complaining about this. To see the hardware reserved bit you open task manager, go to performance, and then resource monitor. I'm begging someone to please help me

ya, already checked that out. The checking/unchecking of the boxes in msconfig does not do anything, will check bios now

didn't seem to find what they were talking about in my bios. took a screen shot of memory actions happening now, and will get one when the hardware reserved has flared up, but as i said. Its random. Currently at 2mb for hardware reserved out of my 6gigs, as it should be

Had the same issue: MB: Asus P7P55D-ELX
8GB(4x2GB)installed, Bios and Win7_64 shows only 4GB, 4GB hardware reserved
Finally got it to work with 8GB:
    What I did:
    Power off
Clear CMOS: Short CLRT, short pin2,3:, (Not just reload defaults in BIOS), and back to Normal: short Pin1,2
    Press MemOK
    Power on
    Delete
Now BIOS/Main/System Info: Usable Size: 8191MB (and Win7_64 reports 8GB)
Note: unless Bios shows correct size, Win wont see it.(even though CPU-Z will report it)
