I recently purchased a Sony Vaio Z Series Laptop and I primarily use it via a docking station. It uses Windows 7 64 Bit Pro, Intel I-7 640M and NVIDIA GeForce GT330M card.
My plan was always to run 2 x BENQ LCD screens (Windows 7 compatible) from it.
I have not been able to get a signal from the DVI port to one of the screens. I spoke with Sony and they advised it is not possible to run two screens from this laptop. However, they still haven't answered the question about why the DVI port doesn't seem to work.
I have tried it without the RGB connection in use, no luck. I have not yet tried a direct connection to the HDMI port from the laptop as I need to purchase a cable.
Main questions are:
- What could be preventing the DVI port from connecting to the screen?
- Is it really impossible to run 2 x screen from this laptop or is there a work around that Sony simply wouldn't recommend?
Thanks for any help offered...
