The X6 is great and I've heard good things about Asus mobos. I'm personally not a big fan of Samsung HDDs, but I suppose that's really a personal preference. 800W is enough to power everything and more. You'll probably need more memory depending upon the type of video editing that you want to do, however, 4GB is fine for most of today's high-end games running on "normal" graphics settings.

Overall, everything you have sounds great. I would only be worried about the memory; 4GB is a little low for a gaming/video editing rig IMHO.

Thanks for the advice I have enough room within my budget to upgrade to 8 gig would that be sufficient for real time rendering at full res with programs like after effects and sony vegas

No problem. As far as RTR is concerned, 8GB is more than satisfactory, so long you don't have any other programs hogging system resources at the time of using After Effects or Vegas. Also, with 8GB of RAM, you will probably be able to utilize the full features of a game's graphics (this highly depends on the graphics card).

Nothing wrong with the mobo, but why not consider this one. It is about the sane price but you will get more sata ports and more pcie slots.

Hey, I agree with everyone about the RAM although, personally, I'd splash out for 16GB. I use After effects and depending on the length/complexity of your composition, previewing can sometimes chew through a BIG chunk of ram.

Secondly, I would invest in a SSD or at least a Hybrid as this is where you'll see the main performance increase when doing video editing.

    Hope this helps,
    Peace, Nik.

I too agree with Essenbe about the MB. Gigabyte MB's are hard to beat. I also agree with NikD about the RAM. The more you have the faster and better your video editing will handle.
