That PSU seems a bit small pal. XFX recommend a 600W PSU XFX 5770 system requirements

The PSU is often overlooked and is more important than some might think. This might also help when choosing a new PSU PSU Calculator

    Thanks for your responses,

I have looked at the PSU Calculator and it looks as if the system is ok.

But pal if XFX recommend a 600W why cut yourself short. A 600W is only a couple of squid more and will at least give you piece of mind

Did you put in a capacitor aging of at least 20%?

That's 450W for a single card, 600W for two cards in CrossfireX.

The Corsair supply listed is rated at 28A on its single +12V rail, which is about as good as in a cheap 600W supply. (The "Arctic Power" unit listed by another poster has 19A on each of two +12V rails, so I guess that it's not a really cheap unit.) The Corsair has the single 6 pin PCI-E power connector that the 5770 requires, so I think that it'd be adequate, if you never plan to go Crossfire.

Having margin is good, but there's something to be said for avoiding pointless expenditures.

    Hi bobkn,

    Thanks for your reply.

I won't be using crossfire in this system as its only a mid end gaming system.

    Thanks
