Cannot update Coprocessor

I click to update the coprocessor and it cannot find one.

I'm using a 64-bit Win7 Ultimate.

Can this cause my HP dv6700 laptop to not turn on? It usually takes 6 hours to let sit before I can turn it back on and when it comes on it turns itself on and off and finally starts to load ever so slowly.

Does it also interfere wit any other drivers? My sound driver works sometimes or cuts on and off after sleep mode. And my driver for my mic is works when I'm playing a game but then cuts off and all sounds cut off until I either close the game or sleep and turn the laptop back on.

Any tips and help would be greatly appreciated.

Just found this thread so I decided that anything else I can include would help my problem.

Coprocessor driver is part of the chipset driver. Go to the HP support page, input your model number (or let it detect your model), then download and install ALL the latest available drivers.

As for the other issues, the laptop may be overheating. Try using a cooling pad and clean out the dust in the case with compressed air. If you are handy with a screwdriver, you can unscrew the back panels and clean up inside.

Also test the memory and hard drive.

It could also be a software issue. Given the number and variety of problems, if above steps do not help, try clean installing windows.

So I have went and looked for drivers for my model but it does not have Win7 drivers only Windows XP, 2000 and Vista's 32/64 bits. So should I just download the Vista 64 bit drivers?

As much as I would love to do a RAM test I don't want to turn off the laptop until I can find any fixes. The hard-drive is still brand new, I just replaced it and clean installed Win7 onto it.

Also my laptop does I resume overheat. Once I turn it back on [after waiting approx 6 hours] it gives me a windows shut down error blah saying this

Yes, you can use vista drivers, if they create a fuss install in compatibility mode.
